Nestled in the heart of Arcadia, Missouri, Thee Abbey Kitchen offers a unique dining experience that combines rich history with heartfelt, homemade cuisine. Situated within the historic Arcadia Academy—a complex dating back to 1846 with a past as Arcadia High School, Arcadia College, a Civil War hospital, Ursuline Academy Girls' School, and St. Joseph's Elementary, to the family owned and operated businesses alive today—the restaurant provides guests with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that reflects its storied surroundings.

A Legacy of Family and Tradition

Thee Abbey Kitchen's roots are deeply intertwined with family values and traditions. Established in 1999, multiple families have lead the charge to deliver home-like quality meals and treats. Currently, Thee Abbey Kitchen is owned by a retired law enforcement family of eight adults working together to deliver the same community-oriented values Thee Abbey Kitchen has aimed towards for over twenty-five years. May our love spread through our food, and our passion for history.

Culinary Excellence: From Scratch and Close to Home

At Thee Abbey Kitchen, the philosophy of "made from scratch" is more than a tagline—it's a way of life. The menu boasts a variety of American home-cooked favorites. Visitors can indulge in hand-cut potato chips, hearty pork tenderloin sandwiches served on house-made bread, and burgers crafted from meats sourced from local Missouri farms. Each dish reflects the restaurant's commitment to quality and the use of local ingredients, ensuring a dining experience that is both satisfying and memorable.

A Sweet Finish: Bakery and Creamery Delights

The on-site bakery is a cornerstone of Thee Abbey Kitchen's charm. Beyond the famous cinnamon rolls—described as "the size of watermelons"—the bakery offers an array of treats that cater to both traditional and adventurous palates.

Complementing the bakery is the restaurant's creamery, where unique ice cream flavors are crafted to delight guests of all ages. Whether enjoyed in a cup or a hand-rolled waffle cone, these frozen treats provide a refreshing conclusion to any meal.

A Gathering Place for All

Thee Abbey Kitchen prides itself on being more than just a place to eat; it's a community hub where families and friends can come together. The historic setting, with its original dining rooms, offers a unique ambiance that transports guests to a bygone era, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant's family-friendly environment ensures that guests of all ages feel welcome, making it an ideal spot for gatherings, celebrations, or a casual meal with loved ones.

Extending Hospitality: Catering and Events

Understanding the importance of community and celebration, Thee Abbey Kitchen offers catering services that bring their homemade goodness to special events. From intimate gatherings to larger celebrations, their catering packages feature an extensive selection of dishes, all prepared with the same dedication to freshness and quality that defines their in-house offerings.

A Testament to Enduring Appeal

The enduring appeal of Thee Abbey Kitchen lies in its unwavering commitment to quality, tradition, and community. By embracing a philosophy that values homemade, from-scratch cooking and the use of local ingredients, the restaurant has carved out a niche that resonates with both locals and visitors alike. In an era where convenience often trumps quality, Thee Abbey Kitchen stands as a testament to the enduring allure of heartfelt, homemade cuisine served in a setting rich with history and familial warmth.
